(I)NTACT helps

Only international solidarity and only international measures can help solving this deep-rooted problem. Awa Thiam, Senegal.

The non-profit association (I)NTACT made it its business to help African non-governmental organisations with their awareness campaigns in terms of money, technology and organization. Our motto is “Helping people to help themselves“.

(I)NTACT currently supports awareness campaigns in Benin, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Togo. Projects in Ghana are taken into consideration.

In Germany, (I)NTACT informs the public about female genital mutilation and advocates the protection of girls and women in Germany at risk of undergoing the procedure.

So far, (I)NTACT’s greatest success has been in the country of Benin, where we started to work nearly ten years ago. There, the end of the tradition of female genital mutilation was celebrated in April 2005 and was confirmed in a study of 2006.
